Our History
Founded in 2024 and based in Germany, Lacterra was created by a team with deep expertise in the Dairy and Biofermentation industries. With experience at multinational companies that prioritize sustainability, we recognized a crucial gap in the market: the need for low-carbon, renewable raw ingredients. Driven by our commitment to a more sustainable future, we set out to fill that gap and transform how ingredients are sourced and produced globally.

We produce traditional ingredients from renewable resources, such as Omega-3 oil from algae and Milk Protein from microbes. While still in early stages, we prioritize innovations with environmental and economic benefits. Our partners are transitioning to 100% renewable energy and sustainable glucose sources, ensuring our bio-fermentation processes remain as green as possible.
